Something to be considered as a result of conducting interviews as research would be that the data may not always be accurate. i have been researching into using interviews as a research method and how to make them effective. There is always a risk of bias creeping into interview responses. For example the interviewees are humans and not robots, their answers could be altered as a response to the interviewer. if you hold strong views about some features of the subject, you need to be particularly cautious about the way questions are expressed. The same questions asked but with different emphasis and in different tone of voice can produce very diverse answers. Complete neutrality is the intention. I will be taking this into consideration when creating the questions for my interviews and how I conduct myself during the interviews.
Judith Bells views on this are very interesting, she also cites others views on the subject.
She says it is easier to acknowledge the fact that bias can creep in than to eliminate it altogether.
