Slow Start...

I feel as if  I am off to a very slow start to this course, I have had to overcome quite a few hurdles along the way.

I am trying to push through and work as much as possible on this to establish exactly what I am being asked to do.

Has anyone else had any issues with getting started??

I am struggling to make time for myself to work.
Last week there were lots of staffing rearrangements, there were parents open evenings and the start of lots of the extra curricular clubs after school.

If you hadn't already guessed I am dance teacher in a secondary school.

Not only has it been a MENTAL start to the year, I am also in charge of a form which gives me lots more responsibilities this year.

The start of this week for me has not only been a slow start but in fact a stand still as I have been quite poorly as well as my little boy which resulted in 2 Skype calls missed this week which i am gutted about!

***Positive interception*** We're both happy and healthy again!

Friday, my day off from school, my email linked to Skype has been 'hacked' which means signing into Skype has been impossible...

Resolution: NEW EMAIL AND SKYPE ADDRESS

Today's Study plan.... READ MODULE ONE HANDBOOK AGAIN

Highlight and write key notes that will help me get started as of MONDAY!!

Write down 3- 5 questions to ask my tutor next time we speak.

Read fellow students blog entries from the last 2 weeks.

A slow start but I will not be defeated....

Any advice or similarities in my story please comment, I need all the support I can get!!

Have a great week....

  1. Hey Rachel. You will soon learn on the BAPP course that there technically is no 'right' way to begin the course so don't stress too much on missing the skype calls. I found the best way to begin Module 1 (personally) was to take each section in turn. I would read through each lens and try relate it back to my practice - making notes where it fit in and what I wasn't doing. By looking at other people's blog posts also gave me such a great place to see if they were focusing on topics that I had not perhaps thought about before. Best of luck for module 1! x

  2. That is great, it is always helpful to hear different peoples personal opinions. Thankyou for yours. I will be sure to keep reading and bogging! - Rachael

  3. Hi Rachel, I feel exactly the same- i feel like I'm thinking of things and blogging but not sure how this all fits in to the ultimate essay- I also don't really know how to write down my practice, I don't have a lot of time either so worry when I e time I'm wasting it, not looking or thinking 'correctly' - I started the course late due to nightmare admissions and enrolment process so do feel quite behind too - i read another girls blog who said she wrote a mind map of her practise and just kept adding things - I guess probably best to delve in and see what happens! I also have not written an essay for many years so that will be fun eventually... !!
